PSV-B-16 Correlation between Plasma, Uterine, and Vaginal Cytokine Concentrations in Postpartum Beef Cows Prior to Artificial Insemination

چکیده
Abstract Cytokines have a vital role in reproductive immune environment during the postpartum period. Previous data evaluated uterine and vaginal cytokine concentrations prior to insemination; however, was unable correlate these with plasma concentrations. The objective of this study determine relationships between uterine, vaginal, pro- anti-inflammatory beef cows timed artificial insemination (TAI). Bos indicus-influenced (n=20) free any physical, health or reproductive-related issues were subjected Bee Synch II protocol 8 days (d-8) TAI (d0). Uterine flushes blood collected on d-3 d-1. Pregnancy determined by transrectal ultrasonography d28 (Pregnant, n=7; Open, n=13). Using RayBiotech Quantibody Bovine Cytokine Array 1 following cytokines determined: interferon (IFN)-α, IFN-γ, interleukin (IL)-13, IL-1α, IL-1-F5, IL-21, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, chemokine ligand (CXCL)-9, CXCL-10, 4 (CCL4). Concentration analyzed using PROC GLM correlations Pearson correlation SAS. For samples, pro-inflammatory (IFN-α, IL-13, CXCL-9, TNF-α) had greater (P< 0.05) open compared pregnant cows. flushes, 3 (IFN-γ, IL-21) IFN-α cows, while CXCL-10 There no significant samples (P>0.05). Interestingly, for there (r=0.46; P=0.02), IFN-γ (r=0.58; P=0.002), IL-21 (r=0.54; P=0.004) samples; observed These results suggest abundance within uterus, vagina, peripheral circulation resulting TAI.

متن کاملSetting up Cows for First Postpartum Artificial Insemination
A long standing goal of reproductive physiologists was to develop a hormonal synchronization program that could overcome the problems and limitations associated with visual detection of estrus in dairy cattle. This goal was realized in 1995 with the publication of a hormonal synchronization protocol that combined GnRH and PGF2α to control ovarian physiology and is now commonly referred to as th...

This experiment was designed to compare pregnancy rates in postpartum beef cows resulting from fixed-time AI (FTAI) at 54 or 66 h after administration of the CO-Synch + controlled internal drug-release (CIDR) protocol. Cows (n = 851) at 2 locations over 2 yr (yr 1, n = 218 and 206; and yr 2, n = 199 and 228 at the 2 locations, respectively) were stratified by age, BCS, and days postpartum to 1 ...
متن کاملInfluence of inducing luteal regression before a modified fixed-time artificial insemination protocol in postpartum beef cows on pregnancy success.
Most fixed-time insemination protocols utilize an injection of GnRH at the beginning of the protocol to initiate a new follicular wave. However, the ability of GnRH to initiate a new follicular wave is dependent on the stage of the estrous cycle. We hypothesized that administering PGF(2α) 3 d before initiating a fixed-time AI protocol would improve synchrony of follicular waves and result in gr...

BACKGROUND The study was designed to test the effect of fixed-time artificial insemination (fixed-AI) after the slightly modified Ovsynch protocol on the pregnancy rate in beef cattle in Finnish field conditions. The modification was aimed to optimize the number of offsprings per AI dose. METHODS Ninety Charolais cows and heifers were entered into the program an average of 1.8 times. Thus, 16...
